It’s Summer- Motorcycles Are In Traffic

During the winter months, car drivers have become accustomed to the presence of motorcyclists and mopedists on the roads, so now they make fatal mistakes – they take away their advantage and do not notice them in the back and in blind spots, which can be fatal for both.

There are two types of motorcyclists – those who are about to fall and those who have already fallen and unfortunately those who have never gotten up or will never ride a motorcycle again. Certainly, for all of them, true motorcycle lovers, the practical side was always less important than the emotional, that is, that characteristic feeling of driving pleasure, which can only be experienced on two wheels.

Motorcyclists are already racing on the roads, and the asphalt is cold, so the tires do not adhere well, the roads are full of shoder, sand and salt … But adrenaline, as a rule, always overpowers common sense. Because you have to drive – say bikers! At the beginning of the season, in early spring, hordes of motorcyclists take to the roads. Unfortunately, as every year, car drivers are still not used to bikers who often know how to unscrew the throttle a little harder, eager to drive and the speed that only two-wheeled vehicles can provide.

Statistics from last year are devastating, there were a third more deaths than in 2017, or according to the latest police statistics – exactly 33.3 percent more. The real tragedy last year was for one of the first weekends in April, when six motorcyclists were killed. It was the same sunny beautiful days then.

So, let’s keep in mind that you don’t sit on motorcycles without protective equipment, that at the beginning of the season, while both drivers and motorcycle tires are ‘unheated’, and car drivers are ‘unprepared’ and unaccustomed to motorcycles that are rushing at the moment, when they least expect it. Even if you go nonchalantly ‘walking’ on a motorbike to the nearest cafe, a protective helmet is mandatory and highly recommended, you should wear a jacket and gloves and – be smart, easier with gas!
