Car Accident in the City of St. Louis

Mr. Gusic was injured on December 14, 2016, when his vehicle was rear-ended at a fairly high rate of speed by a significantly larger vehicle.

Due to the degree of force involved in the impact, Mr. Gusic recalled that his vehicle was pushed forward a considerable distance from the point of impact. It was also the immediate sensation of Mr. Gusic, that he had suffered injury; our client noted acute pain in his cervical and lumbar regions, only moments after being struck by a sports utility vehicle.

A short while later, police units, as well as emergency medical responders were at the location of the crash.  Subsequent to examining Mr. Gusic, it was noted by the ambulance attendants that Mr. Gusic was in discernible pain, to the extent that he was finding it difficult to move without causing sharp increases in his discomfort. It was determined that Mr. Gusic would be taken to seek emergency medical care, immediately.

On that basis, Mr Gusic was conveyed to Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s emergency department, by the St. Louis Fire Department’s ambulance service. Mr. Gusic arrived at the facility at approximately 6:45 p.m., however, hours later he still had not been provided care, despite the acute discomfort which he suffered. Into the morning hours, Mr. Gusic had no alternative than to self-discharge and seek medical care elsewhere.

Happy Client

The following afternoon, on December 15, 2016, Mr. Gusic was seen at St. Anthony’s Medical Center’s Lemay Urgent Care facility. In this instance, Mr. Gusic was provided with a complete examination of his injured areas. It was noted at the time, that Mr. Gusic continued to experience acute pain. The areas of greatest sensitivity, remained Mr. Gusic’s cervical area, and lumbar region. Subsequent to the collision, Mr. Gusic’s entire back had grown sore and stiff. Moreover, Mr. Gusic has been afflicted by ceaseless muscle spasms, since being stuck by Miss Keller’s vehicle.

It was determined during the above-detailed examination, that Mr. Gusic be advised to secure follow-up, therapeutic care to assist in his recovery. By way of explanation, Mr. Gusic was instructed that his improvement would be more thorough, and that, the period in which he suffered stiffness would be less protracted.  Finally, our client was provided with prescriptions, and discharged.

On December 20, 2016, Mr. Gusic presented himself for additional care at a physical therapy clinic. Regular therapeutic care continued until a final treatment date of February 8, 2017. At that point, there remained some discomfort in Mr. Gusic’s cervical and lumbar regions, however our client no longer suffered from near-constant muscle spasms throughout his back.  Our client was instructed to return in the event that he suffered a significant reversal, or exacerbation.

We fought hard for Mr. Gusic with Farmers Insurance Company. Just like any other Insurance Company, they tried to diminish our client’s injuries. At the end, we resolved the matter to the satisfaction of our client as can be seen in the picture above.
